My work is retrospective, evolving from images related to
my childhood and present life. There is a vein of humor that runs through
the entire body of my work, and trompe-l'oeil is the expressive outlet
for this. The juxtaposition of different types of ceramic illusions is
a perfect vehicle for this type of work. My references are designed to
evoke the viewer's memories and pit our common ground with our dissonant
experiences. They reflect my interpretation of the accidental ordering
of the world around me: the confusion, delight, frustration and excitement
I feel about my life's odd turnings. |
